About the Community Engagement Center

What if civic duty felt exciting, rewarding—even addictive?

The Community Engagement Center (CEC) is more than a nonprofit—it’s a civic-tech revolution rooted in Sacramento, built by locals, for locals. Our mission is to gamify civic engagement in a way that fuels economic equity, community pride, and real-world change.

Founded by Daisy Colvin—a self-taught innovator, AI specialist, and civic history advocate—CEC exists to reimagine what it means to participate in your city. Daisy spent years embedded in Sacramento’s economic, historical, and tech ecosystems. From volunteering with Preservation Sacramento to earning VIP access to the region’s top venture summits, she saw one truth again and again: our communities are rich in passion but disconnected from power.

CEC is the bridge.

Through the Civic app and local initiatives, we redirect attention, money, and momentum back into Sacramento neighborhoods—supporting small businesses, local pride, and civic education in ways that feel natural, modern, and magnetic.

We believe the future of cities lies not in big brands or bureaucracies, but in people-powered systems that are fun, frictionless, and fiercely local.
